Vision
REGA’s vision is to bring renewable energy
into the everyday life of all Australians.
Mission
REGA will do this by constructively working
with stakeholders to accelerate the growth of a vibrant and
profitable renewable energy industry that makes a significant
contribution to
Australia
’s economic, social and environmental well being.
About Us
Australian
renewable energy companies currently generate around 10% of
Australia's total electricity supply.
Renewable energy sources include water, wind, the sun,
biomass and thermal heat exchange.
Australia's
renewable energy industry is growing and is attracting investment to
build on existing generating capacity and to develop new generating
projects and manufacturing facilities.
It is creating employment and developing export market
capacity.
REGA
was established in 1999 to provide an informed industry voice in
local, national and international policy developments and debates
about renewable energy.
REGA's
members meet annually at a Forum to hear from industry and political
leaders from across Australia and the world and receive regular
newsletters with important up to date information about industry
developments and leaders. In
2005, REGA is launching its bi-monthly dinner series to enable
members to meet regularly, network and hear from political and
industry leaders.
REGA has developed a 10 Point Plan for a lower carbon economy in
Australia and to position Australia as a global supplier of
renewable energy solutions and outlines the
components that will achieve a sustainable and internationally
competitive renewable energy industry.
