Advocacy

REGA’s core business is to advocate for policies and initiatives that promote the growth of the Australian renewable energy industry.

REGA has worked hard to develop productive and positive relationships with all governments to assist in the formation of proactive policies and to guard against the development and introduction of policies that impede the growth of the industry.

REGA’s resources are available to assist members promote themselves to government and to other industry members.

Networking

REGA’s annual Forums are held each year to provide access to up to date information on industry developments and policies and to meet and network with major industry players in an informal and collegiate environment.

REGA’s Dinner Series also provides opportunities for members to hear from and exchange views with industry and political leaders and network with people working at the senior levels of the renewable energy industry.

Strength in numbers

Overall the Australian renewable energy industry makes a significant national contribution to the national electricity supply, to the national economy through its regional development, employment and investment activities and to greenhouse gas reductions.

The industry, while well established in Australia, is still building on its long term capability and capacity to further develop into an industry that meets the world’s energy needs well into this century and beyond.

Throughout this process the industry needs to present a unified approach to policy makers to promote its benefits to the global community and to engender policy responses that enable this development. REGA provides the most effective avenue for this promotion.
